September: Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Welcome to September, Everyone!

The weather will soon start to cool down, fall lawn work will pick back up, and we’ll start seeing a little less of those long, hot summer days. But September also brings an important reminder—one that means a great deal to all of us here at Howard Brothers.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Childhood cancer is something no child or family should ever have to face. Yet every day, children are diagnosed with cancer and begin a fight that no child should have to endure.

These kids are some of the strongest and bravest people you could ever meet. They face difficult treatments, long hospital stays, and countless challenges, often with courage and resilience that is truly inspiring. Alongside them are parents, siblings, grandparents, friends, doctors, nurses, researchers, and countless others who refuse to stop fighting for better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

September gives all of us an opportunity to pause, learn, and shine a light on childhood cancer. It’s a chance to remember the families who are currently fighting, honor the children who have lost their battles, and support the people working every day to make sure that someday, childhood cancer is something families no longer have to fear.

Howard Brothers & CURE

Howard Brothers has been proud to partner with CURE Childhood Cancer, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer while funding research focused on finding better treatments and cures for pediatric cancers.

We are once again holding a month-long donation drive at all seven Howard Brothers locations throughout September.

And thanks to our customers and communities, last year's donation drive raised an incredible $10,000 for CURE!

That was only possible because of the generosity of the people who walk through our doors every day. This year, we're hoping to go even further—and we'd love to have you help us do it.

Every Donation Makes a Difference

When you visit any of our Howard Brothers locations throughout September, you'll see donation buckets at our counters.

Whether it's a few coins, a couple of dollars, or whatever you're comfortable giving, every donation matters. You don't have to make a donation to support this cause, but if you are able to give, know that your contribution is helping CURE continue its work supporting families and advancing research.

And just like last year, every dollar we raise will go directly to CURE Childhood Cancer.

One day, we hope every child gets the chance to simply be a kid - to laugh, play outside, spend time with their family, or sit at home playing video games without having to worry about cancer.

And one day, we hope we can proudly say:
