Traeger Cook - Simple Smoked Mixed Fruit Dump Cake
We often call this our Bang for Buck Dump Cake. It is cheap, but it is delicious. Pair this with some Ice Cream (we often use our White Mountain Ice Cream Makers in the Summer to make our own at the store) and you’ve got a show stopper dessert.
What you'll need:
- 10 x 12 aluminum pan
- 1 box of yellow cake mix (can be other flavors and brands)
- 16ish oz of drained fruit (we actually used 6 4oz cans of fruit for extra flavor)
- 1 bottle of Parkay Butter
- Lanes Apple Pie Seasoning dashed on top to your liking (available in our store)
We put it on a Traeger Timberline at 350 degrees. After about 90 minutes it was ready.
You’re looking for all the butter bubbling to stop and see the firmness of the cake. The wood pellets and wood fire smoke really adds a lot of flavor to a traditional recipe that most folks would just do in the stove. We used winemaker pellets this time around, but imagine using Apple or Cherry pellets on this and add even extra flavor. The point is, get out and try more things on your grill. No reason to limit it to just meat!
Stop by one of our stores in Duluth or Oakwood, and you can check out the full line of Traeger grills as we are one of the only Platinum Traeger dealers in North Georgia. If Traeger makes it, we probably sell it!
